Dear Postdoc,
Want to get involved in the governance of the Caltech Postdoctoral Association (CPA)? Several positions will open up in the near future, and we are looking for your involvement! The CPA organizes a variety of social and career development events for the Caltech postdoc community, and advocates for postdoc-specific issues within the campus administration.
Your contribution can be big or small. It can be as little as helping out in a few events, planning and organizing an event you like, all the way up to serving on our Executive Board.
Serving on the CPA Executive Board is an excellent way to network with postdocs on campus, and great service to the campus community that will also beef up your Resume/CV. Preferably, we are looking for someone who could commit to be 1 year on the board. Here is a description of the different board positions and duties.
Working with the CPA is a great way to make a real difference in our community here at Caltech. Not only will you help to make Caltech a happier and more rewarding place for you and your cohort, you will also make it easier for new postdocs to adjust, and help to sustain an important source of advocacy for the unique concerns of postdocs (which is crucial amid service cuts and significant campus reorganization).
If you are interested in getting involved with the CPA, either as a board member or just helping out at individual events email us, or talk to anybody you might know on the CPA board.
Sincerely yours,
The CPA Board
