The Advocacy Committee represents the postodoctoral
community as whole in many of its interactions with the administration
and in numerous quality of life issues. These include
(but are not limited to):
Achieving adequate benefits for postdocs commensurate with the level
of education and skill demonstrated by the Ph.D., and communicating
the content of these benefits to the postdoctoral community.
Polling the postdoc community on a regular basis to ascertain top
concerns to address with the administration to improve the postdoc
experience.
Seeking recognition for postdocs as members of the campus community
with a distinct set of contributions and needs, and work to get a
voice in campus decisions that affect postdocs.
Improving the situation on campus for our female, minority and international
scholars.
In addition to these issues we work closely with
the Ombuds office to facilitate conflict resolution. If
you have any questions regarding these or any related issues please
the advocacy committe,
and we will attempt to address your issue as quickly as possible.
